Symptoms we treat.

We’ll walk with you through difficult life situations and help you process trauma.

1

Anxiety

Anxiety can feel overwhelmingly suffocating, like a looming shadow that distorts perception and ramps up fear levels. It's relentless, manifesting as racing thoughts, a pounding heart, and tense muscles that refuse to relax. The feeling of being constantly on edge, anticipating the worst possible outcome, can consume every waking moment. Tasks that once felt manageable now seem insurmountable, as self-doubt and worry cloud rational thinking. Anxiety makes it challenging to focus, sleep, or simply breathe deeply, creating a sense of dread and unease. BFTW will listen, educate and help you gain clarity and relief of your anxious thoughts and behaviors.

2

Depression

Depression is a complex mental health condition that can manifest differently for each individual. It may feel like a heavy weight pressing down on one's chest, making simple tasks seem overwhelming. Some describe it as a persistent feeling of sadness or emptiness that colors every aspect of their life. Others experience physical symptoms such as fatigue, changes in appetite, and difficulty sleeping. Concentration and decision-making may become challenging, and interests and hobbies that once brought joy may no longer hold any appeal.

If you are struggling with depression, know that you are not alone. Seeking support is a crucial step towards healing and recovery. If you would like to speak with one of our mental health professionals, contact us below.

PTSD

Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can manifest differently for each individual, but common feelings associated with PTSD include intense fear, anxiety, and distress. Those affected by PTSD may often experience intrusive memories or flashbacks of the traumatic event, leading to heightened emotional and physical reactions such as panic attacks, sweating, and palpitations. Moreover, individuals with PTSD may also struggle with avoidance behaviors, distancing themselves from reminders of the trauma, and feeling numb or disconnected from others. These sensations can be overwhelming and disruptive, impacting daily functioning and quality of life. Therapy and support can be beneficial in processing these emotions and developing coping strategies to manage the effects of PTSD.

FAQs

What should I expect when beginning therapy?

All new client paperwork will be completed online prior to first counseling session. You will be screened during your consultation call and/or be provided a secure link to our member portal after scheduling your first session with BFT&W. After this is completed, your therapist will review your information and meet, as scheduled. During your first counseling session, informed consent will be discussed- then we will explore your goals/expectations and further explain the therapuetic process.

How can I pay for therapy? Do you offer a sliding scale?
